Raag and the tea maker

by Fiona
The largest violence in Narayanganj and many districts in Bangladesh was the 1964 East Pakistan riots which was the massacre and ethnic cleansing of Bengali Hindus from the East Pakistan period. In the Narayanganj sub-division alone, about 3,500 Hindus were killed, 300 Hindu women were abducted, 31,000 Hindu dwellings were destroyed, and 80,000 Hindus were rendered homeless.

Fiona

Fiona

If in New Delhi a skate heaven…

by Fiona
New Delhi is simply skateboarding heaven, filled with tons of spots where you can have a great time skateboarding. Glossily ground around the metro stations, vast plazas, classic stairs, sloping walls, solid rails … even without an angry guard. Just like the art space in place gathers the local community, skaters assemble around the skate spots. Parks, shopping malls, and other public facilities are meeting points to nurture culture. Such as Deer Park, Connaught Place, Central Park, Palika Bazar, Nehru Place, Pragati Maidan, Ansal Plaza, and Sector 9 Skating Rink…. Therefore, this concrete urbane jungle is the birthplace for the skateboarding revolution. Skateboarding culture exists naturally in the city.

Fiona

The Scientist

By Lewis Gesner
It occurred to me once that the pursuit of human improvement and the harnessing of nature’s powers was a noble one, from reading Frankenstein and other old novels, such as First Men In the Moon, or The Time Machine, which both dealt with a compelled scientist. And then there was The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which also had to do with seeking human improvement.

科學家

by Lewis Gesner
